Sumac, also spelled sumach, is an excellent spice from sumac berries to add to any cold salads and couscous dishes. It goes well with avocado, too, alongside lime juice on top! Sumac is a popular spice in many Middle Eastern dishes. So you can find and buy it in most Middle Eastern supermarkets. You can add sumac to your hummus to add a sharp taste with its tangy and sour taste.
I do like paprika in my hummus, and there is no harm in adding your sumac alongside the paprika too to your hummus. Then there will be a combination of sour and hot flavors, which makes your hummus extra delicious! If you have a rice and stew dish, sumac into your plain basmati rice dish keeps the adult eaters happy without alienating the dish's taste. Sumac doesn't have to be cooked with other ingredients; you can add cold to your word. You can be generous with your sumac on your plate as the powder can lose its taste if you use little. Sumac with olive oil and a touch of chili powder in salads is a marriage in heaven!
Sumac also has good nutrition resources, including vitamin C and antioxidants, and is suitable for the digestive system due to its fiber richness.
