When planning our travel, we first look at the ticket and accommodation to find good deals, favorite regions, and resorts! But how often do we look at the food menu? Only a little or by accident, unless you have a specific diet, have special food requirements, or indeed you are a fussy eater! However, for those who are vegan, this would be different. Even if veganism is getting increasingly popular worldwide, it'sstill difficult to find vegan menus or vegan buffet in restaurantsand hotels!

There might be a vegan-friendly place where you can find good deals but there might not be many options! So it might be worth worth searching for vegan friendly options before you plan your holiday! Search vegan options on the menu in hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, and local shops in the country you aim to spend your holiday. Find a good deal, a budget deal and book your favourite menu thereafter! Don't forget that you have the chance to find restaurants and places of food around where you stay!

In the meantime, self catering places to rent for holiday, such as AirB and B, and hostels which you have the privilege of making your own food during your stay! However, the place is better to be around the supermarkets where you can buy your supplies!

Another thing that is worth checking before traveling is the airline food menu that you choose to travel with, or the train, or coach you travel with that if they offers vegan meals! You don't want to be disappointed when you are up in the air or enjoying the landscapes out of your widow on the train! Watch out for the 'vegan meal deal' and if there isn't any which based on my experience there are still limited options, you can take your snacks, vegan sandwich, plant-based powder milk, and other vegan supplements with you! This way, you are not stressed about your vegan diet, while you can save money and perhaps a healthier option!

The good news is there are valuable apps you can check to find vegan options worldwide, such as HappyCow, a handy app for those who want to explore vegan food restaurants, cafe shops, and street foods offering plant-based food in thecity where they stay! Another option before you travel is to find a place to self-cater. Again this way, you go on a low budget and have more opportunities to make your food.

The Vegan Society website is a good place to get guidance for your traveling and vegan choices, such as Vegan Passport! Yeah, you heard me right, Vegan Passport! The passport is an app with many options, including vegan travelers' experiences, vegan books, vegan news, etc. According to the website Vegan Passport is a pocket-sized book describing what vegans do and don't eat in the languages of over 96% of the world's population. It includes, as a failsafe, a pictorial guide.

In addition, the Vegetarian Guides series makes available books describing appropriate eating places in many European cities and tourist destinations. You might be surprised that a plant-based diet is authentic and original in some cultures, so you might even find interesting new vegan foods from the country you travel to! https://www.vegansociety.com/user/register

This way, you are rest reassured that you do not need to think about vegan food in your holiday as some places might not be familiar with vegan food, and then you want to have your interpretation and search for vegan food.

However, to remind you that your own homemade vegan food at home is more divine, delicious and sophisticated! Especially if you are passionate gourmet person, so remember that traveling might not be the same at home; however, you have the choice of exploring vegan food in destination country outside your comfort zone! It's fun and exploring! Even you can be a guide to your vegan friends and families or indeed those who aren't vegan but don't mind to lashing at a good vegan food! Hopefullyyou have the chance to become familiar with new ingredients, authentic vegetarian dishes and vegan products dedicated to the country of region! This way, you can even explore the food culture in the designation country and the origins of plant-based vegetables. Generally, although tourist attraction places have a lot of restaurants and food places close to each other with lots of offers, which i particularly like to discover the first day of my stay and/or at the end of my travel to have a nice dinner in a decent restaurant like to have beetroot risotto dish! Local restaurants is what is advised to go to study before you go using the reviews would come handy tools! I guess it's because they are more authentic, quintessential to that region, and less touristy; seeing local restaurants and local foods is already enjoyable; check the food options, ergo you enhance your journey up and about while you enjoy your trip!

Further you can find the routes of the food from the local people. You might be surprised to find many herbs and vegetables unknown to you, which you can interpret to your own need once you go back home! So you can interpret your own version based on your findings!

Lastly, you can socialize with people with the same diet as yours, from your neighborhood to a different part of the world! This way, you know you are not alone and that veganism is not a trend anymore but a lifestyle and increasingly on demand! So you have a story to tell your friendsand families!

In the meantime, although apps and books and web search helps you to discover vegan food places via feedbacks and reviews, I advise you to have your search while you are on holiday. This lets you know that you can guide your friends and family who want to try vegetarian and vegan food on holidays! As a vegan, I like to search for my food while on holiday and explore where I can! Based on my experience, vegan food is still less known in most tourist places, and if so, the quality might not meet your expectations! But, you can encourage those places and introduce vegan food.

In the meantime, countries are different. As I said, there are places where vegan food is well known to that region or those which are more recent or by accident they have good vegan and , especially those countries that are already eating meat-free and dairy-free foods because of their cultural and religious reasons, such as India, Far East, and Middle East countries where dare to say most vegan and plant-based food comes from. But do not take my word for it, have your discovery and share it here if you can!

Bon Voyage!
